Pertandingan Debat MRSM Se-Malaysia 2009, MRSM Bentong.

Hye!!

We guys from MRSM Batu Pahat, Johor joined the debating championship for the first time. :) Along with other 40 MRSMs, making it 41 MRSMs in total!!

so, I was in the malay language debate team. Shocked? haha.. Aku boleh berbahasa Melayu!! :)
We reached Bentong around 3.30 p.m.

MRSM Batu Pahat was represented by:

1. The Malay Debate Team

1. Diivan Raj [me!]
2. Laila Sabiha [the little one in this team, very active, cheerful, funny. have a HUGE passion on "katak"]
3. Faisal Roup [the faboulos third speaker, rather skema than otai, poyo kowt... :p]
4. Atikah Abdullah a.k.a. AA [This girl gets the guys' eyez.. hihi..]

2. The English Debate Team

1. Eshwaren Manoharen [my classmate.. so..?]
2. Wafri Zaeem [Don't mistake him for a Chinese, cause he is not!]
3. Syahmi [the hot-tempered "lucky" guy - He gets to go to Japan for a Student Exchange programme]
4. Luqman Hakim a.k.a. (I think the spelling is Wrong!) [The official video recorder ;)]

so... We went there to win, for sure.. But then, I wasn't IN for real, with that thought!! Let's change it to BM for more mood, I mean, after all, I'm a Malay debater, isn't it?

Pertandingan Debat ala-Parlimen diperkenalkan buat julung kalinya dalam sistem MRSM pada tahun 2009. Sebanyak 41 MRSM telah bertanding dan pertandingan tersebut telah diadakan selama 5 hari. Dari hari Sabtu, 27/06/2009 sehingga Rabu, 01/07/2009.

Mengikut kronologi perlawanan MRSM Batu Pahat, kami telah melalui pelbagai dugaan dan cabaran menentang pelbagai pasukan lain, mengikut aturan yang disediakan oleh Sistem Powermatch Swiss yang dikenalkan oleh MADUM (Majlis Debat Universiti-universiti Malaysia - kowt..) dan pihak Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM). Abg Syatir was there, together with Abg. Daud. (My idols!!). Dipendekkan cerita, berikut ialah apa yang telah Team Debat saya lalui;

Perlawanan Pertama ,

MRSM BPJ vs. MRSM Pasir Salak, Usul: Pelajar Tidak Peka Isu Semasa. The debate was nice and agak sengit. We WON dengan margin 1.. juri 3-0, Pendebat Terbaik: Faisal

MRSM Tawau vs. MRSM BPJ, Usul: Kuasa Pengguna Menentukan Harga Barang. Persaingan yg tidak berapa sengit. BPJ MENANG dengan margin 5.5.. Juri 3-0, Pendebat Terbaik: Laila

MRSM Terendak vs. MRSM BPJ, Usul: Filem Kita Budaya Kita. Persaingan yang tidak begitu sengit tetapi mencabar. Kesalahan kami yang paling besar ialah apabila kami menceritakan mengenai perkauman dan juga agama. Does agama = budaya? Answer that! We WON once again with margin 2.5... Juri 3-0, Pendebat Terbaik: Diivan (me!!)

MRSM BPJ vs. MRSM PC, Usul: Prasekolah Perlu Diwajibkan Pada Usia 5 Tahun. Wah!! Ak rase yang ni ialah yang paling sengit antara kesemua persaingan. Bayangkan apabila ada 3 perempuan yang sangat cantik duduk di kerusi pembangkang meng-'syko' kita dengan senyuman dan "flying kiss"nya.. That is why mase penggulungan, ak gune perkataan "SAYANG"... Sayang Seribu kali Sayang, kami MENANG dengan margin 2... Juri 3-0!! Lega gler.. Nice to know u guys, Nadia (she wears a PRADA bag!!), T-rex, the tall, sweet gurl, and that SUPERB friendly reserve guy!! Pendebat Terbaik: Laila

MRSM BPJ vs. MRSM Taiping, Usul: Pencapaian Akademik Faktor Utama Penawaran Kerja. Trok!! We were good, taw.. The definition (konsep) was good la.. Ak dh putus harapan dah lepas game nie.. Dah xde harapan langsung arr nk gi ke Quarter Finals.. MRSM BPJ TEWAS dengan margin 2, Juri 2-1 (Ade gak yang berpandangan seperti kami... :)) [first time debat nagn Chyfica!]Pendebat Terbaik: Laila

Selesai kelima-lima pusingan awal, hanya 8 pasukan terbaik akan mara ke pusingan Suku Akhir!! Thank Goodness, MRSM BPJ got no. 3!!!

Perlawanan Suku Akhir,

MRSM BPJ vs. MRSM Kota Kinabalu (KoKi), Usul: Sains Menjadikan Manusia Lebih Bertamadun. Kami MENANG dengan juri 5-0... But, third speaker dorang mmg bagus, Johana..Pendebat Terbaik: Faisal

Perlawanan Separuh Akhir,

MRSM BPJ vs. MRSM Muadzam Shah, Usul: Teknologi Menindas Negara Miskin. Wow! Muadzam Shah was really good! All fierce girls.. I am not sure if they made good, obidient wives!! (Sorry, though!) After waiting for like ages.... the resultz were anounced, we guys WON with juri 5-0 too!!! We were the only team who was jumping and terkinja-kinja in that hall!! I mean, we MADE it to the FINALS!!!!!!!!!!!! Who is not happy?! Pendebat Terbaik: Faisal

Petang tue, Kteorg, as in MRSM BPJ + MRSM KoKi + MRSM Kuching, went to Pekan Bentong! We had lots of fun. And, CKG. HALIM + the other teachers bELaNjA us.. Yea.. yea.. Makan KFC!! best gak arr... hhmm.. That night, ade rehearsal cam ne nak masuk stage on the next day. Really damn scared already.. Then, we met Datuk Saifuddin!! He's good!

Perlawanan Akhir,

MRSM PASIR SALAK vs. MRSM BATU PAHAT, JOHOR

dengan naqeeu yang dapat ranking no.2 !"

Kami memang 'enjoy' masa tengah quarentine!! We had photoshoots.. Suruh Adik MRSM Bentong belikan air mineral.. Gelak2.. Kenekan Atikah dengan MR. A A (identity is secreto de amour) Last2, the time came!! We were standing at the door of the Hall, when Datuk Idris b. Jusoh walked in! FYI, he is Pengerusi MARA!!

next, the Tuan Speaker, penjaga Masa, MRSM PASIR SALAK debaters, MRSM BPJ debaters walked in. Pergghh, mase tue kan!! The music was soo good and the mood it created was as if in an international debating championship.. We arrived at the 'pentas'.. Looking down at nearly 1000 audiences!! Mengcuakkan!! Damn it! BTW, the Tuan Speaker was damn cute (a girl teacher)!! the Usul was: Globalisasi Mengancam Negara-Negara Membangun, we were the opposition.. I stood up as the Ketua Pembangkang and.. "Cubaan Suara.. Cubaan Suara Ketua Pembangkang Penyayang"

I debated.. and debated.. the last sentence during the penggulungan was.. "Apa yang kami minta hanyalah satu iaitu Pengadilan Sewajar-wajarnya, Mohon terus membangkang."

Debate finished. Me, Laila, Faisal, Naqeuu, Saufi and Amirah also Atikah, Fazlin became really good friends as we gossiped all way round!! haha.. It's funny to think that we were foes on stage.. Such drama! Who said debating is not a drama?!

Resultz,

During the ceremony, Datuk Idris Jusoh mentioned me during his speech as KARPAL SINGH!! As if! making things short, Redza from MRSM Balik Pulau got the best speaker and his team won.. For BM, DIIVAN RAJ SILVAKUMAR received the best speaker prize and MRSM BATU PAHAT, JOHOR was the JOHAN PERTANDINGAN DEBAT MRSM SE-MALAYSIA!!!! No one could put into words that feeling!! Just too awesome!

I was an instant celebrity!! wakaka... e@siswa and Fokus SPM interviews?! Out of question.. Ok, time is really envious.. The English team who never make it to the finals, angelically, packed our things hurriedly. Poor them and thank you! really appreciate it.. :)
